TAPPI Connect: Like social media without the crazy

Join TAPPI’s an online community where
you can grow your network with other industry professionals

Imagine productive “water cooler” talk where you choose the topic, or help a peer with a solution! TAPPI Connect is just that. It's an online community where you can grow your network and get answers from industry professionals in the pulp, paper, tissue, packaging and converting industries – not your classmate from high school who posts cat pictures every day (but feel free to post your cat in Connect too).

What’s in Connect?

  • Groups: Join topical groups (such as TAPPI Divisions), participate in one of the Open Forums, or join a Specialty Group (such as consultants, local sections or alumni).
  • Member Directory: Use this searchable database, open only to members, to locate colleagues and coworkers.
  • Open Forum: Read discussion threads, start your own discussions, or access documents such as conference proceedings in the library.
  • Ask The Expert: live and online, these take place six times a year on the Open Forum and put you in direct contact with subject-matter experts. Get answers to your questions and hear your peer's questions. Each is archived, so you can revisit it as needed.
  • Mentor Match: Become a mentor or find a mentor! Share resources and experiences while working together to achieve professional and personal goals.

The TAPPI Connect app: Connect Community
You don't have to stay tied to your desktop to benefit from TAPPI Connect, keep in your pocket. The Connected Community app (a user friendly mobile version of TAPPI Connect) gives you an easy way to participate, no matter where you are.

In addition to TAPPI Connect, TAPPI's LinkedIn page can connect you with more than 13,000 industry professionals that are interested in reaching out and staying connected. TIP 0425-07: Safe and Reliable Start-Up and Shut-Down of Yankee Hood Air Systems

This Technical Information Paper (TIP) provides general procedures for start-up and shut-down of Yankee hood air systems. This TIP does not include guidelines for start-up or shut-down of Yankee cylinders. Information regarding this may be found in “Guidelines for Safe Assessment and Operation of Yankee Dryers”, which is available from TAPPI.

Following proper procedure for start-up and shut-down of Yankee hoods and air systems will:

  • Minimize the risk of injury to personnel.
  • Minimize potential damage to production and building assets
  • Potentially improve reliability and the efficiency with which these operations are conducted.
