ABB announced it has signed an agreement to purchase Siemens’ low voltage NEMA motor business. With manufacturing operations in Guadalajara, Mexico, this acquisition provides a well-regarded product portfolio, a longstanding North American customer base, and an experienced operations, sales, and management team.
 
The 3D fibre product demo plant jointly owned by Metsä Group's innovation company Metsä Spring and Valmet was inaugurated in Äänekoski, Finland. The demo plant was inaugurated by Minister of Science and Culture Petri Honkonen, President and CEO of Metsä Group Ilkka Hämälä and CEO of Valmet Pasi Laine.
 
Kimberly-Clark announced that it was once again named one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere for the fourth consecutive year. This recognition honors the company's exceptional leadership and commitment to business integrity through best-in-class ethics, compliance and governance practices.
 
Valmet said that it is investing EUR 18 million to further develop its press felt production facilities in Tampere, Finland. The investment involves new press felt machinery and equipment, including a new pre-needling line and a new needling line.

The Millcraft Paper Company announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire KW Graphics of Springfield, Illinois. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
 
Sawlog and Pulpwood Prices in Sweden Increased in Q2 2022
Swedish Forest Agency today reported roundwood prices on delivery timber increased for both sawlog and pulpwood during the second quarter of 2022 in comparison to the first quarter of 2022. The sawlog price increased by 3 percent and pulpwood by almost 9 percent.

International technology group ANDRITZ and Paracel S.A., Paraguay, have signed a contract under which ANDRITZ is to supply all process equipment and energy-efficient and environmentally friendly pulp production equipment for Paracel’s 1.8 million ton/year pulp mill to be built in Concepción, Paraguay.

DS Smith Zărnești Paper Mill Expands Online Monitoring System on PM1
Following the successful implementation of a major condition monitoring project's first stage in the summer of 2021, Romanian paper mill DS Smith Paper Zărnești announced an expansion of the project. After the completion of two more project stages, the Intellinova Parallel EN online system will fully cover all rolls in the dryer section of the plant's paper machine PM1.
 
ANDRITZ to Supply Tissue Production Line to Yuen Foong Yu in Taiwan
ANDRITZ has received an order from Yuen Foong Yu Consumer Products Co., Ltd. to supply a PrimeLineCOMPACT M1600 tissue production line (PM10) to its mill located in Chingshui, Taiwan, Republic of China.
