MPI Potomac FYI
New Member & Volunteer Spotlight
By Amanda Parsons, Board Director

On the Member E&R team, the members are the center of everything we do. We operate along a simple, consistent cycle, anchored by our three As: Ask, Acknowledge and Appreciate.

We ask our members to take their commitment to the next level and get involved on a committee, often providing insight about those teams that might best suit the individual’s personal interests and available time.

With our STAR and Starlight Awards, we hope to acknowledge our volunteers’ time and effort to keep the chapter moving forward towards our goals.

Finally, we appreciate all members who contribute to the chapter as a whole, and celebrate the hundreds of hours of manpower that go into keeping the momentum going at our annual Evening of the Stars Awards Event.

We are always happy to welcome new volunteers onto our committee, with the only requisite being that you should truly enjoy getting to know your fellow members!  Please feel free to contact Suzanne Arteaga (zonx78@gmail.com), Katie Stewart (kstewart@omnishotels.com) or myself (aparsons@hayadams.com) for more information!

About HMCC:

The Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC) program provides healthcare meeting compliance stakeholders with the knowledge and experience they need to successfully navigate the increasingly complex pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device regulatory environment. A broad range of healthcare topics including cross-border healthcare compliance, industry trends, global regulations, and compliance, codes, laws and mandates will be covered.

The program is worth 4 clock hours and after completing the intensive, four-hour training, participants will receive a certificate of achievement and hold the HMCC designation for two years.  MPI members enjoy a special price on HMCC. The HMCC course is designed for those who need a broader understanding of a full range of healthcare regulatory topics. It is a perfect fit for those who are involved in planning and reporting transparency and spend as well as those suppliers who provide services and products to the healthcare industry.  The condensed class format of the HMCC makes it easier for busy professionals to fit training into their schedules.

Why should I, or my company, get a certificate in Healthcare Meeting Compliance?
The certificate is targeted for those who devote a major portion of their time to working in the healthcare industry. The program is for those who are involved in planning and reporting transparency and spend, as well as those suppliers who provide services and products to the healthcare industry.
The benefits of receiving the certificate include:
Professional recognition
Personal satisfaction
An indicator of expertise
Increased opportunities for employment advancement opportunities
Increased credibility with clients
Serve as a role model to others

When: Wednesday-Thursday, February 22-23, 2017
Where: Washington Hilton

Next Generation: At MACE! 2017, we will focus on the next generation of our industry and what the future holds. What kind of technologies will exist that are going to take us to the next level? How will this impact growth and our own professional development? New this year will be a featured Tech Alley at MACE! 2017, where tech exhibitors will have the opportunity to showcase their wares and give demonstrations. We hope to encourage forward-thinking from our engaged members, as we continue to learn new and improved ways to do business. One example of a new technology that will be utilized at MACE! in 2017 are blended HD Widescreens that function like digital billboards and display graphic, animations, videos and picture, in picture style presentations. We will also continue live streaming as we did in 2016, so attendees can participate anytime, anywhere! Make sure to lookout for live interviews from our very own Doug Sandler, who will be back in 2017 to ask the hard questions and ensure we have a lot of fun!
