IPEC Announces Speakers and Agenda for Fall 2019 Faculty Institute

Join us in Portland this October! The preliminary agenda and speaker biographies are now available for the Fall 2019 Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Institute in Portland, Ore.!

The Fall 2019 IPEC Institute, Strengthening Partnerships for IPE and Collaborative Practice, will provide health professions educators, administrators, practitioners and other interprofessional partners the opportunity to advance their existing institutional interprofessional education for collaborative practice (IPECP) programs.

Confirmed Institute speakers and panelists are as follows: Jason Brunner, PhD, University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences; Sheri Cosme, DNP, RN-BC, National Collaborative for Improving the Clinical Learning Environment (NCICLE) and American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC); Jennifer Gunderman, MPH, University of New England Center for Excellence in Health Innovation; Heather Hageman, MBA, Washington University Medical Campus Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education; Lya Stroupe, DNP, APRN, CPNP, NEA-BC, ANCC and West Virginia University Medicine; John Tegzes, MA, VMD, DABVT, Western University of Health Sciences; and Mayumi Willgerodt, PhD, MPH, University of Washington Center for Health Sciences Interprofessional Education, Research and Practice.

“We are extremely excited about our fall 2019 speakers,” noted Dr. Deborah Trautman, IPEC president and president/CEO of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. “Institute attendees will hear directly from leading faculty and experts who are managing complex IPECP programs and academic-practice partnerships. It is our goal to provide unique insights that will help transform systems of health and education across the country.”

Highlights for this unique three-day program include:

  • Variety of networking opportunities, from discussions to group activities, to help foster relationships with education and practice colleagues from across the country

  • Sessions and panel presentations highlighting academic-clinical partnerships to improve IPE and collaborative practice
