The Oregon Board of Dentistry recently passed new requirements for providers placing dental implants, effective July 1, 2022. Review their FAQ on the new rules here.

In 2021, the Oregon Legislature passed HB 2528, creating a new dental provider called “Dental Therapists.” The Oregon Board of Dentistry is currently undergoing rulemaking in order to implement the bill. The public comment period on the proposed rules is open until June 3, 2022, 4 p.m.

The Oregon Dental Association is looking for a new representative on the PDMP Advisory Commission. This is a 4-year commitment, with an option for reappointment. The Advisory Commission meets in Portland quarterly on the third Friday of the months of January, April, July, and October from 1:00-3:30 p.m. Reach out to Jen Lewis-Goff, ODA Associate Executive Director, for more information and application assistance.
