Message from the Chair
As the summer winds down and we steer toward our sixth month of remote work, there is a noted change in the air. Although many if not most associations are struggling to stabilize revenue streams and stay mission focused during a time of tremendous upheaval, some good has come of this upheaval. Disruption forces change – forces us to look at new ways of doing things and sometimes dramatically so.

Synergy Awards
On August 20th we celebrated NYSAE’s Synergy Awards for the first time in a virtual format. As our NYSAE Chair, Joanne Barry, said in her remarks, “An important aspect to the growth and development of any profession is the recognition of the outstanding accomplishments of individuals and organizations within it, and the encouragement of those who seek to achieve excellence.”
Membership Benefits
NYSAE Organizational Membership grew from just 8 organizations one year ago to 21 companies at copy deadline. How did that happen? The category was originally created exclusively for Regular Members-- associations and nonprofits—but now Associate Members, including vendors and supplier partners, have taken advantage of this membership model for their entire team. Plus, NYSAE is no longer just for the chief executive. Our programs now serve all staff levels and departments, including meetings, communications, education, membership and emerging leaders. If you are paying for two or more NYSAE members at your organization, now is the time to join, renew or bump up to the Organization Membership model. Contact Holly Koenig to find out about benefits and costs.
Industry News
NYSAE congratulates the Kellen team for their work with No Kid Hungry, a national campaign run by Share Our Strength, a nonprofit working to solve problems of hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world. With the support of individual employee donations and a corporate contribution, Kellen collectively raised more than $10,000 in crucial funds for kids who are struggling due to the coronavirus. This effort was part of the “Kellen Gives Back” corporate social responsibility program, which helps support the communities where its employees live and work. Upcoming Events
