The Actors Fund was proud to be a part of Actors’ Equity Staff Training on Responding to Harassment and Discrimination. This initial two-hour workshop for Senior Business Representative staff, addressed how the union can provide member-centered support, get clear on the ways in which the union can address issues and build intake assessment skills. Actors Fund Entertainment Assistance Program social workers worked closely with Equity leadership to design and facilitate the six-month long training schedule which in addition to this initial training, will involve four additional training sessions that will help to instill the assessment and support skill set needed for working with members coping with harassment and discrimination in the workplace. This workshop training series was made possible through funding from the Broadway League and is a great continuation of the work being done by The Fund and entertainment unions in working towards fair and equitable workspaces for all professionals in the industry.
