NYSAE and the CAE

Whether you are pursuing the CAE (Certified Association Executive) credential, or are thinking about it, here are some resources to help you on your journey:

  • Review Courses. NYSAE has partnered with the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) for virtual prep courses and materials.  MSAE offers these courses to NYSAE members at their member rate; be sure to mention you are a NYSAE member!  MSAE's Spring Concentrated Course starts February 12. The Spring CRAM Course is April 13-16, 2021. Both courses are virtual.  All calls are live and also recorded.  Find out more about the MSAE CAE prep courses here.
  • CAE Mentor. To support our members pursuing the CAE or considering it, request a CAE Mentor, where you will be paired with a NYSAE member who recently earned their CAE.  Read more here
  • CAE Credits. NYSAE is an approved CAE provider. Most NYSAE programs (live virtual or in person) at NYSAE earn CAE credits. Refer to individual event descriptions for the number of CAE credits.  For a list of NYSAE events you have attended, contact info@nysaenet.org.  You must have completed 100 hours of broad-based, association management-related professional development in the 5 years prior to when you apply to take the CAE exam.
  • NYSAE programs on CAE.  In 2020, NYSAE held two programs where we answered your questions about the CAE. To replay them, click on June 23  or November 18.
