New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has appointed BTEA President and NYSAE Board Member, Lou Coletti, to the Construction and Real Estate Sector Advisory Council, a group of industry leaders tasked with providing guidance on re-opening the City in relation to the COVID-19 health crisis.

“As New York City looks towards the future, it is encouraging to see thought leaders from various market sectors come together to re-open our City, with a strategic and well-thought out plan,” said BTEA President, Lou Coletti. “A construction industry that is prepared to operate the highest protocols to protect workers and the public in this pandemic is an essential element to a vibrant economy, and BTEA members are committed to working in partnership with Mayor de Blasio to move our industry forward, in an intelligent, safe and practical way,” Coletti concluded.

Additional Advisory Councils also announced were Non-Profit and Social Services, Public Health and Healthcare, Faith-based, Education, and Surface Transportation. These are in addition to the Sector Advisory Councils on Labor and Workforce; Large Business; Small Business; and Arts, Culture, and Entertainment. Sector Advisory Councils will inform the Administration's efforts to restart the economy and city life. The councils will serve as critical links to disseminate information about re-opening and provide guidance to shape the City’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“These councils will provide real world guidance to ensure our plans to reopen the city make sense and keep people safe. We are facing an unprecedented crisis, but by working together, we will come out stronger than before,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio.
