NYSAE is excited to announce its new and revamped awards program for the Synergy Awards Luncheon. It is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2020 from Noon – 2PM at the Harvard Club. In an effort to recognize major players in the New York City metro association and nonprofit community, NYSAE’s Synergy Awards Committee developed new categories for NYSAE to shine light on not only exceptional employees, but the extraordinary work that their organizations do to make an impact on the NYC community and beyond.

The new categories consist of:

  • The NYC Impact Award, which celebrates an individual or organization that has made a significant impact in the NY Metro region;
  • The Meeting Planner of the Year Award, for a planner who created an experience that challenged the status quo and effectively aligned it with the strategic goals of the organization;
  • The Rising Star Award, for an employee with seven years or less professional experience and has demonstrated the ability to develop relevant resources that increase member value and advance the mission of the organization;
  • The New Association Award which recognizes an association or nonprofit that was founded within the last five years that has gone above and beyond in connecting with their constituency; and
  • The Excellence in Educational Programming Award, which highlights an educational program that an association has recently created or revamped that contributed significantly to the development of its members’ profession or industry workforce.

“For years the Synergy Awards have been a meaningful recognition of those who excel in their day to day roles and go above and beyond for their organizations,” said Charles Riotto, NYSAE Chairman. “Creating new awards, allows NYSAE to embrace more of the community and remain at the forefront of association excellence and best practices.”

There will be a total of ten awards that are open for nominations. In addition to the awards listed above, the following awards are open for nominations:

  • The Lifetime Achievement Award;
  • The Association Chief Executive of the Year Award;
  • The Distinguished Service Award, which recognizes a key volunteer of the Society;
  • The Digital Excellence Award, which highlights an association for their use of innovative technology to enhance the membership experience; and
  • The Association Partner of the Year Award, which is awarded to an organization that provides services or products that have significantly improved, promoted, and benefited the association/not-for-profit community.

Full details of the awards categories can be found here. Nominations for the Synergy Awards will run from November 1st to December 15th, and they are open to both members and nonmembers of NYSAE. Winners will be announced during the month of February.
