NRMCA is looking for good men and women to serve on the Board of Directors. While serving on the Board requires both commitment and energy, it is a rewarding opportunity to give back to the industry. NRMCA represents a broad range of ready mixed concrete companies across the United States and our
success is a direct result of the skills and expertise of our professional staff working in conjunction with
our Board members. Director nominees must be committed to promoting NRMCA programs and
working in the best interest of its membership and the industry at large. The Board provides strategic
direction, fiduciary oversight and governance of the organization’s operations.
Nominees are vetted by the Nominating Committee, which consists of the current chairman, immediate past chairman and past chairmen of the Board for the previous seven years who are still active in the industry. The selected slate of nominees is then presented to, and elected by, the general membership and will serve a three-year term that begins immediately following the Annual Convention in 2019.
Please click here for more information that includes links to a list of current Board members, Board job description and nomination form. Nominations are due by Friday, July 20. You may also contact Heather Houck at hhouck@nrmca.org for more information.

City officials in Thornton, CO, followed the successful construction of a concrete overlay in a local park last year with a Request for Proposals (RFP) for construction of a concrete overlay (3-inch and 4-inch) for the renovation of a golf course parking lot, reports NRMCA Vice President, Local Paving, Don Clem. The city evaluated the bids based on contractor qualifications and best value, and then selected SLV Quality Concrete (Leonard Velasquez, owner and member, American Society of Concrete Contractors) for the project. The 90,000 square foot parking lot at Thorncreek Golf Course will require about 1,000 cubic yards of ready mixed concrete, and 2,300 linear feet of concrete curb overlay. Clem prepared a Design Assistance Proposal (DAP) for this project earlier this year. He credited Dave Gray, market manager, GCC of America, for originally opening discussions with the city regarding last year's concrete overlay.
