Recently, NRMCA’s Amanda Hult and Phil Kresge joined Dolese Bros.' Duane Coy in Oklahoma City for a Boot Camp with JE Dunn. While parking lots were not a focus of his business, Eric with JE Dunn admitted that he could see this as a benefit and would like to add this as a service to his clients. Eric encouraged NRMCA to reach out to other JE Dunn offices and provide them with the same training opportunities.

Earlier this week, NRMCA staff along with a group of construction-related association officials met with Ray Martinez, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) administrator and his top staff in Washington, D.C. to discuss Hours of Service (HOS). Through NRMCA advocacy, numerous exemptions have been granted from the Hours of Service regulations to the ready mixed concrete industry. In doing so, both Congress and FMCSA have recognized that many driving practices in the ready mixed concrete industry should not fall within traditional HOS restrictions.

Just over two years ago, the RMC Research & Education Foundation was pledged a major gift by the Troesh Family Foundation. It agreed to give up to $3 million provided the industry raised 3X that amount, or $9 million. We’re excited to announce that with $8.8M in current commitments, we’re only $200,000 from achieving the match to fully leverage the Troesh gift. To help the foundation get across the finish line, Command Alkon has announced a major additional incentive.

The CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020 Education Committee is soliciting session speaker proposals through Thursday, November 15. Applications must be made online through an online portal. The Education Committee will make selections from submitted sessions by mid-March 2019 and notify speakers of the outcome by early Summer 2019.
