![]() NRMCA’s Think First monthly safety initiatives feature different industry-specific safety items relevant to seasons, current topics or industry concerns. The initiatives are meant to be shared, used as a training tool, printed, posted or distributed, all of which are encouraged. This month’s issue (seen here) is titled Lockout/Tagout Saves Lives!” Pavement
Recently, NRMCA hosted an event in Newburyport, MA, that was attended by over 30 engineers, contractors, cement companies and NRMCA Producer members. The event highlighted the concrete industry’s role throughout the planning, design and construction of a concrete intersection in the town, reports Senior Director, Local Paving, Luke McHugh. This was the first of many paving projects that MassDOT has committed to reconstructing with concrete because of its durability and long service life. Craig Dauphinais MaCAPA, Heather Steffek, ACPA-NYS, Bill Cuerdon ACPA-NYS and McHugh (seen here were actively involved throughout the multi-year process, at MassDOT’s request, to help build this first concrete pavement in over 20 years.
