Recently, NRMCA hosted an event in Newburyport, MA, that was attended by over 30 engineers, contractors, cement companies and NRMCA Producer members. The event highlighted the concrete industry’s role throughout the planning, design and construction of a concrete intersection in the town, reports Senior Director, Local Paving, Luke McHugh. This was the first of many paving projects that MassDOT has committed to reconstructing with concrete because of its durability and long service life.
Craig Dauphinais MaCAPA, Heather Steffek, ACPA-NYS, Bill Cuerdon ACPA-NYS and McHugh (seen here were actively involved throughout the multi-year process, at MassDOT’s request, to help build this first concrete pavement in over 20 years. (Pictured here, from left to right, are Dauphinais, Steffek and McHugh.)
