Attendees at NRMCA’s 2026 Annual Convention will have the opportunity to hear from keynote speaker, NFL legend Terry Bradshaw. Mr. Bradshaw is the only NFL player with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and continues to defy an easy pigeonhole. He is a four-time Super Bowl champion quarterback with the Pittsburgh Steelers, two-time Super Bowl MVP and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Mr. Bradshaw is also an Emmy award winner and current broadcaster for FOX on the network's NFL Sunday show. He is an enduringly popular actor, gospel/country singer, motivational speaker, New York Times best-selling author and breeder of championship quarter horses.

 On October 17, NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Frank Mruk and MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub’s Randy Kirchain (seen here with Mruk at left) presented Sculpting the Future with Concrete at the National Construction Specifications conference in Cleveland. The well attended presentation walked through practical, near-term moves and the long-game pathway to carbon-neutral concrete and its new multifunctional applications for the future. CSI is a 140+ chapter network of 8,000+ AEC professionals - architects, specifiers, engineers, contractors, owners and building-product manufacturers. The National Council of Structural Engineering Associations (NCSEA) recently hosted its annual structural engineering summit in New York City, attracting prominent engineering professionals from across the U.S. as they pursued education and resources to further enhance the design profession. NRMCA’s Build With Strength initiative maintains a strong presence among this group, engaging in education, consulting and participation in code committees that influence various aspects of the build environment. 
Over the past two weeks, NRMCA joined fellow organizational members of the Alliance for Concrete Codes and Standards (ACCS) at the second round of the International Code Council (ICC) Group B Committee Action Hearings held in Cleveland. NRMCA Codes and Standards team members Darryl Dixon, Julian Mills-Beale and Shamim Rashid-Sumar provided testimony on issues impacting the concrete industry, including combustibility testing requirements for non-combustible materials, provisions for 3D printed concrete and prescriptive limits for embodied carbon among other topics. The hearings began on Wednesday, October 22, and conclude this week. Build With Strength is a coalition led by NRMCA that promotes standards advocacy to leverage policies promoting safety and resiliency and help place more concrete.  More than 50 architects, engineers, contractors and developers from throughout Ohio and Kentucky (shown here) toured the jobsite of a new all concrete hotel project in Newport, KY, earlier this month. With three insulating concrete form (ICF) floors complete, the seven-story dual-brand Hilton project will quickly become another anchor in the revitalized downtown area across the Ohio River from Cincinnati.
