Concrete Council, Illinois State Affiliate Produce New Parking Lot Promotion Brochure

The Concrete Council and the Illinois Ready Mixed Concrete Association have developed a simple new full-depth parking lot brochure for use in promoting the specification of concrete as the default for new projects that include parking lots. The message is that specification of concrete as the default bid will often result in its selection as owners realize that the cost premium may be much less than they anticipated.
The brochure also promotes consideration of using concrete for an entire parking lot rather than on drive-through lanes, dumpster pads, foundations, etc. and then mobilizing a completely different trade (asphalt) when concrete is already on the job site. In the case of many retail and drive-through projects, the marginal cost of a full-concrete lot may be very little or no more than a mixed material lot, while also creating a brighter, safer, more welcoming, less disruptive and valuable asset for owners and their customers.
Also included in the brochure are pages illustrating other advantages of concrete to further reinforce the SIMPLE. REALLY theme, along with lifestyle photos of smiling owners and users supported by captions to illustrate the way that the use of concrete makes them feel - Safe, Cool, Welcome, Valued.
Ready mix and contractor members are encouraged to use this tool in proposing full-depth concrete parking lots for upcoming projects as the initial specification, with the added benefit of increasing value to their customers.
