Last week, NRMCA Senior Director, Energy Codes and Standards, Darryl Dixon participated in a conference organized by ASHRAE along with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory titled The Buildings XVI Conference which gathered product manufacturers, research organizations, academia, builders, designers, architects and consultants to discuss their achievements, interest and awareness of buildings issues, and to provide solutions and insight into some of our major building envelope problems.
This conference draws heavily on the advanced technical knowledge of our global experts and takes place every three years, allowing time to develop new research and technology applications and to document findings. NRMCA's involvement underscores the concrete industry's commitment to energy-efficient and sustainable construction. "The codes and standards teams’ participation help ensure that concrete's thermal properties are accurately represented in industry standards, promoting its use in energy-efficient building designs," said Dixon.
