The next MIT CSHub webinar, From Designs to Decisions: Using MIT's Online Pavement LCA/LCCA Tool for Low-Carbon, Cost-Effective Choices, is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, at 11 a.m. Eastern time. Dr. Haoran Li will present an online tutorial on how transportation agencies and practitioners can use the MIT CSHub Streamlined Pavement LCA and LCCA Tool to quantify and evaluate the environmental and economic performance of pavement design and maintenance decisions in minutes rather than weeks.
Dr. Li will walk through the tool’s workflow, from defining projects and traffic to selecting materials and designs, and show how it integrates life-cycle assessment (LCA) and life-cycle cost analysis (LCCA) in a single interface. Using real-world state DOT-style case studies, the webinar will demonstrate how the tool compares pavement design and maintenance alternatives, visualizes embodied and use-phase impacts and supports low-carbon, cost-effective decision-making. The session will close with a discussion of data needs, default assumptions, and how agencies and practitioners can adapt the tool to their own specifications. This webinar is designed for pavement designers, asset managers and policymakers interested in practical, actionable life-cycle analysis.
Organizers suggest trying the tool before the webinar, which is best used on a computer rather than a mobile device. Click here to register.
