The event was held at the Gaylord Palms Resort in conjunction with NRMCA’s ConcreteWorks 2025. Mr. Wilkerson took home the “Mullings Cup” and the champion’s check of $6,000. Mr. Wilkerson (seen here) has been driving concrete mixers for 11 years and is a two-time, top three finisher in the Florida Concrete & Products Association (FC&PA) rodeo.

The trophy is named after former Executive Vice President of Operations and Compliance Gary Mullings who retired in 2024 after 50 years with NRMCA and who played a major role in the formation of the event.

The fourth-place finisher, receiving a check for $1,500, was Jon Sheets with Irving Materials (IMI) of Frankfort, IN. Mr. Sheets has been driving professionally for 20 years, 11 of which have been for IMI. Mr. Sheets is also a four-time, top three finisher in both company and state rodeos since 2023. The fifth-place finisher, receiving a check for $1,000, was Harvey Harmon from Tri City Concrete in Shelby, NC. Mr. Harmon has been driving a mixer truck for 20 years, five of which have been for Tri City, and has competed in 15 state rodeos, placing in the top four the last 12 years. He has competed in 12 NRMCA National Mixer Driver Championships, resulting in multiple top five finishes.

This year’s examination utilized iPads for all 128 drivers. Four drivers were recognized for high scores: Bill Cook and Edward Leitch of Thomas Concrete, Josh Heffernan with IMI and Shannon Pruitt from Quikcrete. The title of Smartest Driver in the Room and highest exam score went to Gerald Mundall with CEMEX. Finally, taking the top spot on the Driving Challenge Course was Garrett Wilkerson from Maschmeyer Concrete.
