The National Concrete Pavement Technology Center has recently published technical briefs that highlight the use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) and blended cement in concrete pavement mixtures.
- Blended Cements for Next Generation Paving
- Integrating Alternative Supplementary Cementitious Materials into Next Generation Paving
These are some case studies of innovative projects built in the past 10 years that include SCMs, blended cements and/or recycled materials:
- Concrete Pavement Test Sections with Optimized Aggregate Mixtures and Portland-Limestone Cement in Minnesota
- Concrete Pavement with Portland-Limestone Cement, Coal Ash, Optimized Aggregate Gradations and Recycled Concrete Aggregate in Colorado
- Concrete Pavement with Optimized Aggregate Gradation, Coal Ash and Slag Cement in Illinois
- Concrete Paving Mixture with Slag Cement and Recycled Aggregate in the City of Seattle
The Fall NC2 Conference is scheduled for September 9 - 11 in Springfield, MA; register here by September 4. Visit the website of the CP Tech Center for more information.
