NRMCA recently celebrated the success of the Mississippi Concrete Association’s (MCA) Day of Concrete seminars held on July 22 in Oxford and July 24 in Gulfport. The events brought together a diverse group of industry professionals, including architects, contractors, engineers and public works employees. Attendees at both events earned six hours of continuing education credit.
NRMCA staff played key roles, with Michael Wymant, vice president of building innovations, and Luke McHugh, PE, senior director of local paving, leading informative presentations. The curriculum covered a wide range of topics from foundational knowledge in Cement 101 and Concrete 101 to more specialized subjects like ACI 330: Concrete Parking Lots and the application of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF). MCA Executive Director Joel Waters highlighted the events' importance, stating, "from roads and bridges to houses and schools, Mississippi needs concrete. These events are a great way to spread the word!"
