More than 365,000 square feet of ready mixed concrete is being placed at Lafayette High School (seen here) in the Rockwood School District, the largest district in the St. Louis County public school system, The school district has been a big proponent of concrete and was the site of the first Concrete Parking Lot Overlay, at Crestview Middle School in 2006, with many more following afterward, including the huge Marquette High School Concrete Parking Lot Overlay, also over 350,000 square feet, and the site of a major hard hat tour and demonstration during construction.
"This is a great example of our philosophy to 'Change the Default' of major asset owners in Missouri and Illinois," said Oliver "Skip" Dulle of the Concrete Council of St. Louis. "We are also working with contractor members to support consideration of concrete parking lots by owners for new construction, with growing success."
