NRMCA Senior Vice President, Local Paving, Phil Kresge was part of the panel of presenters for Concrete Roundabouts – Design to Durability, an event hosted by the Ohio Concrete Association (OCA) promotion team. The online seminar attracted over 270 attendees, including state, county and local municipality engineers as well as a number of representatives from consulting engineering firms.

Kresge opened with an overview of the benefits of concrete pavement for roundabouts. Following him, Pat Plews, P.E., from Woolpert Engineering spoke about the Madison County I-70 & SR 29 interchange project that his firm designed. Next, consulting engineer Todd Audet, P.E., highlighted roundabout projects in Bowling Green, City of Rossford and the Port of Toledo. Kresge then closed the program with a presentation highlighting a concrete roundabout overlay project in nearby Allen County, IN.

The recurring message throughout all the presentations was that concrete pavement is the right choice for resilience, durability and constructability.
