NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Brandon Wray displayed a number of cement and concrete innovations at the recent USGBC-CA Green Building Conference held in San Francisco. Wray's session, Cement and Concrete Materials Showcase, featured presentations from NRMCA members, including CalPortland Company, National Cement (National Ready Mixed Concrete Company), Fortera and C-Crete Technologies.
The overall goal of the session was to highlight present and future technologies that the cement and concrete industries are developing and how they pair with developer, designer and contractor initiatives. In addition to the showcase, NRMCA resources were on display in the exhibit hall and heavily referenced in a keynote session that discussed paths toward unlocking the potential of ultra-low carbon concrete as well as in sessions discussing the bolstering of resilient-based design.
“Build With Strength’s overarching message of pairing resilience with sustainability continues to put down roots in our built environment as the need to build better and build smarter continues on its upward trend of resonating with the design and build communities,” Wray said.
