NRMCA was recently named Trade Association of the Year for its effort in helping to create and promote the Build With Strength campaign by the Reed Awards in the Grassroots category. The award occured earlier this month in Philadelphia and is named after Campaign & Elections founder Stanley Foster Reed. Build With Strength is a coalition led by NRMCA that consists of civic organizations, fire service professionals, architects, engineers and industry experts committed to enacting safer and more sustainable building standards.

"Over the past year, NRMCA exemplified resilience, passion and most importantly, mobilization when informing the public of the dangers of treated, cross-laminated wood and the need for non-combustible construction,” says Luis Fernandez, account manager at Fiscal Note. “With a laser focus and aggressive internal performance standards, it maximized touch points to stakeholders using grassroots outreach, influencers, cutting-edge technology and policy analysts; all reasons for which NRMCA not only excelled in its mission but was recognized as Trade Association of the Year while doing so.”

"According to ASAE (the American Society of Association Executives) there are almost 67,000 trade associations in the U.S. That gives you an idea of just how difficult and competitive it is to win a prestigious award like ‘Best Trade Association,’” explains Ann Dermody, director of content marketing at CQ/Roll Call. “Having written up multiple award nominations over the years, NRMCA's was one that almost wrote itself. The cohesive nature of the entire organization, from the top down, working toward one common goal, shows just how aligned the vision and execution at NRMCA is. A really deserving winner."

NRMCA is the founding member of Build With Strength, a coalition that works with communities, lawmakers and industry employees to advocate for safer, sustainable building materials. Strengthening local and national building codes is among the organization’s top priorities.
