NRMCA Verifies Producer Member's Aggregate EPDs

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

With LEED v4 starting to be discovered in building construction documents and specifications, material suppliers are investing in environmental product declarations (EPD). One such material supplier is NRMCA Producer member Graniterock, which now can offer an EPD for aggregate products in addition to ready mixed concrete product EPDs. The verified EPD includes an average product range of aggregates from the A.R. Wilson Quarry (Aromas, CA) and Southside Sand and Gravel (Hollister, CA) facilities. Graniterock’s aggregate EPD was developed by Athena Sustainable Materials Institute and verified by NSF International.

To date, the U.S. and Canadian ready mixed concrete industries, including material suppliers, have verified 35 EPDs with a total of 9,513 products and is a leading industry that reports product transparency.

Integral to the Build With Strength campaign, NRMCA promotes Strength Through Transparency for member and industry competitiveness in the green building marketplace and the trends toward product and company transparency.
