NRMCA Joins Pro-Business Coalition to Oppose New Card Check Bill

Earlier this year, legislation was introduced in both the House and Senate to promote union interests at the expense of employees’ and employers’ rights. This legislation would abolish the right of employees to private ballots when voting whether or not to unionize, repeal the federal law that permits states to adopt right-to-work laws giving workers the freedom to opt out of union dues and codify the National Labor Relation Board’s 2009 joint employer standard. This legislation is supported by extreme anti-business legislators like Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

NRMCA has joined the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace (CDW) and nearly 100 other organizations in a letter opposing this legislation. NRMCA works closely with CDW to oppose anti-business policies like ambush elections, micro-unions and joint employer standards and will continue to monitor this pernicious legislation.
