EPA Borate Review – NPMA Survey on Structural Use Patterns

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

In May, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published Proposed Interim Registration Review Decision for Boric Acid and Sodium Borate Salts. The proposed review decision determines an increased risk to occupational handlers which will require the use of respirators by commercial applicators when using borate products. NPMA is concerned that the data used by EPA to determine increased risk is inaccurate and does not appropriately consider structural application methods and use patterns. NPMA is working with the Borate Testing Task Force to share our concerns with EPA, but we need your help!

To ensure that EPA is working with the most accurate data and making decisions based on sound science and actual structural use patterns, we need you to complete a short survey and provide estimates on borate use patterns and quantities.

The EPA has extended the comment period to August 23rd and we need additional data to defend the industry! Please complete ASAP!

All information collected will remain confidential and will be used in the aggregate to provide EPA with data that accurately represents the structural pest management industry. Without this data, EPA may make inaccurate conclusions that may impact your business.
