Last week, Jim Fredericks, NPMA’s Vice President of Technical and Regulatory Affairs, was nominated to be considered for an appointment to the U.S. EPA’s Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC). The PPDC is a Federal Advisory Committee that meets with EPA on a regular basis to discuss pesticide regulatory, policy, and program implementation issues. The next PPDC meeting is scheduled for May 3rd and 4th. In addition to PPDC business, EPA is requesting input from PPDC members and the public on regulatory reform. This input will help inform EPA’s recently formed Regulatory Reform Task Force, which is charged with critically evaluating all current and proposed regulations and make a determination on "those that can be repealed, replaced or modified to make them less burdensome." NPMA will also be submitting comments on EPA’s proposed rule "Evaluation Existing Regulations." The proposed rule is seeking input on regulations, by the public, that may be appropriate for repeal, replacement or modification, if you have questions or input concerning this topic please contact the Public Policy team.
