Congratulations to Metal Head, Inc., NOMMA's 2022 Mitch Heitler Award Winner, and Ernest Wiemann Top Job Competition People's Choice Award winner. Metal Head Inc. won the awards for its project submitted under Category E: Interior Railings - Ferrous and Nonferrous - Forged.
This grand stair railing was inspired by the Rodin Museum in Paris, France. The scrollwork was entirely hand forged from 3/8"x3/4" bar into the form of a double tapered penny scroll, and the leaves were gileded in brass leaf to accent the French antique finials that sit atop the 1-1/2" solid newel posts.
The railing framework was built on site, and fitted to a 2" embedded channel pre-drilled and tapped for a bolt in installation after scrollwork and finishing.
The breathtaking result of Metal Head Inc.'s skilled work is a grand stair worthy of French royalty.
