Carlton Naegele served as chief of the Geneva Fire Department from 1958-1986 and was a member of the association board of directors from 1969-1973. He was a life member who joined NYSAFC in 1957.

The official FDNY National Stair Climb in partnership with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will be held September 15 at Belmont Park in Elmont, NY.
 
NYSAFC took part in the event, sharing information about home fire sprinklers with the public.
 
The Whitehall Volunteer Fire Company was the 2017 recipient of NYSAFC's Public Education Award.
