DOH Releases Policy for Independent Study CME Recert
Changes in education regulations in 2023 removed the requirement that a EMS provider must be a current or active member or employed by an emergency medical services agency to recertify using continuing medical education. Policy Statement 25-06 describes how an individual can recertify by independent study. Learn more here.

Revised Statewide EMS Protocols Revised Again
The 2025 revisions to the Statewide EMS Procotols that take effect have been updated to correct typos and add use of supraglottic airways to the BLS scope of practice when EMTs are trained, equipped, and approved. Policy Statements 25-04 (ALS) and 25-05 (BLS) were published to prevent EMSers from gouging their eyes out. These two statements list ONLY the updates to the updates. Download either or both here.
