NYS Official Protocol App
Did you know that Muru is the official protocol app for the New York State Department of Health Bureau of EMS? Any provider can download the app to their phone and have access to up-to-date BLS and ALS protocols, along with other reference tools useful on EMS runs. Learn more here. Speaking of protocols, keep an eye out for 2024 protocol revisions coming any day now. These will take effect July 1, 2024.

Quality Improvement Measures
The State Emergency Medical Services Council (SEMSCO) has endorsed all of the National EMS Quality Alliance (NEMSQA) measures as approved measures for use by EMS and fire departments. If you are looking for quality metrics, the NEMSQA website would be a great place to start. A great way of keeping up with new and updated measures would be by having your department join as a NEMSQA member. Memberships are available for both individuals and departments.
