FOMO Course Offered In New York
The New York Chapter of the National Association of EMS Physicians (which, by the way, EMS providers are welcome to join) will offer a Foundations of Medical Oversight Course (FOMOC) on November 15 and 16 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. both days. The course is entirely virtual and is designed for medical directors of EMS agencies. EMS agency leaders have also found the course very helpful, as many of us have incorrect ideas about what role a medical director should play in our departments. Tuition is $200 for docs and $100 for EMS professionals. CME credit is awarded. Register here.

Emails for Training Related Issues
Here’s a list of helpful emails for all problems training related (just in case):

  • Email for course submissions (approvals, modifications, cancellations, etc.). Primarily used by the portal, but can be used by a sponsor if something relating to course paperwork is needed (student missing on roster, missing roster, dog ate your course number, etc.).
  • Email for all items relating to reciprocity, including NYS students who took the registry exam.
  • Email for any and all testing issues with PSI, missing scores from HCS, missing emails. Students and instructors should first consult: BEMS Testing Q&A page.
  • Email for anything relating to instructor certification and renewals.
  • Email for anything relating to the administration and running of the course sponsorship.
  • Email for requests and communications relating to accommodations made for examinations.
