NYSAFC 113th Annual Conference & FIRE 2019 Expo Preview

Alert! General Session Venue Change
The location for the General Session – including the Keynote Address and Memorial Service – has been changed to The Oncenter War Memorial Arena – Memorial Hall (located across the street from The Oncenter exhibit areas).

Discount program
Area establishments will be offering a variety of discounts to patrons who are in town for FIRE 2019. Attendees can pick up a special ticket upon entry in order to take advantage of the city's generosity. Visit Syracuse and the Downtown Committee of Syracuse have compiled a list of participating shops that will be available here soon. Each restaurant or store will have a sign in their window as well. FIRE 2019 attendees must present the ticket to receive the discount, but it can be reused for the duration of the event.

Pre-Registration
It’s not too late to pre-register! Those that sign up at a late date can pick up their credentials on-site at the Box Office Registration Area (through Gate 1 – main entrance). Free One Day Tickets for entry to the exhibits can be obtained from our exhibitors, so contact them directly.

On-Site Registration
Purchase One Day Tickets for entry to the exhibits at Gates 1 or 2 for $5 per person, per day. Full Term registration (for entry to education programs and the expo) is available through Gate 1 at the Box Office Registration Area. Kids 15 and under can enter the exhibits for free.

Schedule of Education Programs
Check out the schedule of fire/EMS classes open to Full Term Registrants from Wednesday to Saturday at The Oncenter. Certified EMS providers can earn CEUs for attending denoted programs. Remember, Wednesday is an education day only (no exhibits), including a new full-day EMS program!

Exhibitors and Exhibit Floor Plan
More than 300 companies will be exhibiting at FIRE 2019 from Thursday – Saturday. See who is participating and view the indoor and outdoor exhibit area floorplan.

Hands-On Training
Limited openings remain in these programs: Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera Ops, Advanced Vehicle Extrication, Fire Flows and Water Supply, Hoarder Fires, Machinery Rescue Ops, Multifaceted Elevator Rescue, Rapid Intervention/FAST/Survival, and Truck Company Essentials. Codes Training
Seats are still available! Students can earn in-service codes hours by participating in training on Wednesday (June 12), Thursday (June 13), or on both days. Register now.

General Session: Association Business Meeting, Memorial Service, and Keynote Address
The Annual Conference General Session will be held on Thursday, June 13, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena – Memorial Hall, located across the street from The Oncenter exhibit areas, and is open to all attendees.

• Association Business Meeting: 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
• Memorial Service: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
• Keynote Address: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Keynote Address: "My Story and Philosophy"
Syracuse University Head Football Coach Dino Babers
You won't want to miss this year's dynamic keynote speaker, Coach Dino Babers! He'll help welcome attendees to Syracuse and discuss his background in coaching – where he came from and his inspiration on the field. He’ll talk about the culture of his program, his coaching philosophy, and lessons learned that apply to leaders in all fields. Special thanks to our sponsor, VFIS!

NYSAFC FIRE 2019 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
Lend your support or sign up to participate in NYSAFC's fifth annual climb on Friday, June 14 at AXA Towers, just a short walk from The Oncenter. Proceeds will benefit the FDNY CSU and NFFF. Check-in and on-site registration (space permitting) starts at 7:00 a.m. and the climb beings at 8:00 a.m. Parking is available in the MONY/AXA Garage.

FIRE 2019 Block Party
Join NYSAFC as we celebrate the return of our conference to Syracuse! The FIRE 2019 Block Party will be held on Friday, June 14, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. on South Warren Street in front of the Marriott Syracuse Downtown. Entry is free and all are invited! The rain or shine event will feature live entertainment and food/beverages will be available to purchase. 

NYSAFC Installation Ceremony
The Installation Ceremony for the NYSAFC 2019-2020 officers will take place on Saturday, June 15 at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown – Persian Terrace. All attendees are invited to the ceremony at 4:00 p.m., followed by a reception.

Parking and Free Shuttle
Seven lots/garages have been designated for event parking. Nominal parking fees apply. A discounted $5 daily rate will be charged at the Oncenter Garage. Free shuttle service will be available to/from The Oncenter and hotels with NYSAFC room blocks. The shuttle schedule, plus a map showing participating hotels and designated parking areas, are available here.
