It was April 2020, and like many associations, the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU) had made the difficult decision to turn their face-to-face annual conference and marketplace into a virtual event. The event was originally scheduled to be held in New Orleans in August, but with all the risks involved with COVID-19 the right decision to make was to change the event to virtual.
This decision had impact across all areas of the event, but the one particular item that I needed to was how to generate value for the sponsors and exhibitors.

NE/SAE's Emerging Leaders Program is designed to provide both young and new association professionals with development and networking opportunities to advance their association careers and to have a positive impact on the associations they serve.
Emerging Leaders attend five educational sessions, as well as NE/SAE's three major conferences, our Digital Solutions Conference in October, Conference for Association Education in January, and our Annual Meeting in June.
Emerging Leaders will be highlighted as rising professionals in the local association community throughout the year and will be recognized for completing the program.
Emerging Leaders candidates should be nominated by a sponsor, ideally a supervisor or staff leader from their association. Nominations for the 2020-2021 program will be accepted until Friday, September 18, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
