Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Phishing is a type of email scam where attackers disguise themselves as legitimate entities to trick you into giving up sensitive information, like passwords or financial details. These emails often look convincing, but there are ways to spot them and protect yourself:

  • Watch for Red Flags: Be cautious of unsolicited emails asking for personal information, financial details, or login credentials.
  • Check the Sender: Double-check the email address. Scammers often use addresses that look similar to legitimate ones.
  • Hover Over Links: Before clicking, hover over any links to see the actual destination. If it looks suspicious, don’t click!
  • Verify Attachments: Never open unexpected attachments without verifying the sender first.
  • Report Suspicious Emails: If you receive a phishing attempt, report it to your IT team or email provider.

Stay vigilant, and help keep your personal and professional information safe!
