The FCC's landmark NG9-1-1 order this summer, which came into effect in November, sets timelines for Originating Service Providers (OSPs) to deliver NG9-1-1 calls. No longer voluntary, large carriers have six months to connect with SIP upon receiving a valid request for service, and six months to deliver NG9-1-1 traffic after receiving a second request. Smaller carriers have twelve each. This webinar breaks down the legal requirements of the orders, the capabilities that 9-1-1 authorities have to make requests, and the resources available to them.
