Coalition Urges Congress to Fund Next Generation 9-1-1 With Spectrum Auction Revenues

A coalition of nine national organizations is calling on Congress to act swiftly to fund critically needed upgrades to America's local 9-1-1 emergency response systems.
NENA: The 9-1-1 Association and groups representing state and local governments, industry, and disabled persons issued the call to action to all Senate and House leaders as well as the Chairs and Ranking Members of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
In the letter, the groups reiterated their strong support for funding essential Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) upgrades by allocating a portion of the proceeds from federal spectrum auctions.
