Delta says it spent $654 million more than last year at this time, and American Airlines said it would spend about $50 million more. That could eventually mean price increases for consumers. ( CNN)

If a proposed initiative in San Francisco passes in November, a 0.5 percent tax will be imposed on all companies and individuals that earn more than $50 million per year. The ballot qualified for the November election with 28,000 signatures - far exceeding the 9,485 minimum needed. The cost of living is so expensive in San Francisco that $117, 400 annually for a four-person household is considered low income. ( Fast Company)
