Holistic Health: Building a Healthy EcoSystem Around You

Empower a healthier world by joining us for the Holistic Health Community Service Project. Bring your pedometer and take time out today to join us for the Youth Empowerment Walk and Community Health Fair. The health walk is $15 per walker or $100 for a team of 10. Proceeds benefit the Indianapolis Chapter Leaders of Tomorrow® program and the Center for Leadership Development. Kids under 12 walk free. And the Community Health Fair is also free!

Walk registration: 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Youth Empowerment Walk: Noon-1:00 p.m.
Community Health Fair: 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

Stories from today's Plenary, Keynote Luncheon and Networking sessions, as well as the NBMBAA Annual Membership Meeting and Reception.

 
Indianapolis, Raleigh-Durham and Washington, D.C. tied as first place winners for Chapter of the Year Award. Surprised chapter presidents received their award during Friday’s annual NBMBAA Membership Meeting.

The winning chapters demonstrated excellence in programming, membership development and acquisition, national alignment along with furthering the legacy of the mission and vision of the organization through strong leadership and partnership.

Attendees of Friday’s Plenary Session heard a candid, lively discussion on how to play the corporate career game and win. The Men’s and Women’s Forum, "Equal Time: Men & Women in the Workplace," featured a panel of speakers offering straight-talk advice for African American men and women on advancing their careers.

Participants were not sure what to expect when they entered the session described as an opportunity to share ideas and input for future conferences but two hours later, there were still people adding to the lists!

Expertly facilitated by Kevin Pitts of Performance Consulting Group, the group was charged with brainstorming new and different ideas or approaches for conference planners to consider.

Some of the insights she shared in her Friday afternoon session, Before You Go – Networking for Almost Entrepreneurs, came from thinking about the things she might have done differently while she was still working in corporate America.
