Leighann Miko, River Nice:How financial advisors can better serve transgender clients,” FinancialPlanning, Dec. 4. Miko says, “A lot of queer folks, especially the older generations, choose not to marry for a variety of reasons.” Nice says, “One of the biggest misconceptions is the idea that transgender people don’t have wealth, or don’t have access to much money.” 

Peggy Ruhlin: Peggy Ruhlin Discusses the State of Women Financial Planners,” Journal of Financial Planning, December. Ruhlin says, “If you’re looking for employees, you can’t just sit there and wait for them to apply. You have got to go out and plant the garden and then till the garden and someday there’ll be a harvest.”  

Danika Waddell: Helping women in tech align wealth with values,” InvestmentNews, Nov. 30. Waddell says, “One thing that’s really important to me is making our industry more accessible to those who would like to become financial planners. Having a team that’s more diverse than the average in our industry, creating jobs, creating a flexible environment where people can learn – I would love to have some kind of residency program too.”  

Brooklyn Brock: Advisor Exit Planning Strategies That Will Blow Your Mind with Brooklyn Brock,” The Model FA, Nov. 21. Brock says, “… financial planning is one type of service that can help people through life transitions.”
