Hello –
Happy 2022! We are so thrilled this year to celebrate MPI’s 50th Birthday. As we progress through the year, we will celebrate this milestone in many ways so please keep an eye out.
Please join us for our February events. Our amazing education program on Feb. 16 will feature a great line-up exploring Intentional Meeting Design at SaksWorks (yes, that Saks). Carnevale Italia, our networking event on Feb. 22, will not disappoint at Cucina 8 1/2, as we transport to Venice for festival season! Don’t miss out on either event. All COVID-19 and vaccination protocols will be in place.
As you know, our chapter runs on the dedication and passion of our volunteer members. We have several opportunities available across all facets of the Chapter. Whether you want to learn a new skill or hone an existing one, whether you have an hour or lots of time on your hands, we want you to be involved with our community. Committee descriptions & more information can be found here.
I hope to see most of you not once but twice this month.
Yours in hospitality – Laura
Laura Mulholland President MPI Greater New York
P.S. If you are not yet following us on our social media platforms, please do so here.

As you know, MPI Greater New York chose to postpone our January education event due to the recent uptick in COVID-19 infections in New York City. We are excited to host the event this month on Wednesday, February 16, at SaksWorks, located at Saks Fifth Avenue Flagship Store.
Attend the February 16 Education event at SaksWorks and help New York City's homeless by donating a new pair of socks!

Please join us again this month at God's Love We Deliver. Our next volunteer session helping out in the kitchen is scheduled for Thursday, February 17, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: God's Love requires all volunteers be fully vaccinated. You will be required to show proof of vaccination upon checking in for your volunteer session.
Thank you all for helping MPI Greater New York help God's Love!

Join fellow members of MPIGNY and HSMAIGNY Tuesday, February 22, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., to celebrate the festival season at our Winter Networking Social. Cucina 8½ will transport us to Italy with tasty food, libations & music in the spirit of Venice's annual carnival.
About our Host: Formerly known as Brasserie 8½, Cucina 8½ offers an elevated dining experience with rustic Italian cuisine. Located at the iconic Solow building at 9 West 57th Street in the heart of Midtown, Chef John Villa’s menu features a variety of dishes that are inspired by New York & Italian ingredients, and culinary traditions. Enjoy a full dining experience in the main room, cocktails in the lounge or the Gold Bar, and private dining in three different capacities.

As you may know, London Convention Bureau has graciously sponsored a number of scholarships to cover the cost of a one-year planner membership to MPI. With many of our colleagues still reeling from the effects of the last two years, we want to be sure you know that there are still several scholarships available for qualified planners.
Now, more than ever, your MPI membership can provide the connections and industry relationships you need to move forward toward recovery.
Interested planners can apply here.
Are you interested in getting more involved with MPIGNY? Volunteering with a committee is a great way to meet new clients and industry partners! Visit our website or click the link for more information on how to get involved.

At MPIGNY, our members are family, and in challenging times, we believe in taking care of our own. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the financial hardships many are experiencing as a result, MPIGNY has set up a community support fund to provide monetary grants to our colleagues who need it most. If you are in need of assistance during this or any of life's more difficult moments, we may be able to help.

Are you a new venue looking for an opportunity to showcase your space for event planners and industry leaders? Do you have a restaurant with the capability of hosting groups? Has your space undergone a renovation that you want the industry to see? Are you looking to boost your bookings in 2022? If you answered yes to any of these questions, become an MPIGNY Venue Partner!
MPIGNY hosts a number of events each year ranging from education and networking events, to our larger cross-industry Holiday Party, to our annual signature fundraising Auction & Mixology event in the fall. Partnering with us means increased visibility and new business leads. We have a total reach to over 3,000 meeting and event professionals within the New York tri-state area and would provide you with a tailormade list of sponsor benefits that would touch each these professionals not only at our partnered event, but thru our MPIGNY network of social media, web presence, event marketing, and beyond.
