WEDNESDAY, September 21: Putting People First - The Business Case for Creating Safety & Engagement

We are in the business of hospitality. Whether you are a meeting planner or a supplier, we put people first. We anticipate and meet their needs; and in a world where diversity, equity, and inclusion are becoming more prominent, we are tasked with creating safe spaces and inclusive relationships with our clients, hospitality partners, and ourselves.

In our first Educational Event of the 2022-2023 board year, we are delighted to present two terrific speakers to discuss the business case for creating safe events and the power of language in developing authentic relationships.

Our first speaker, Tim Mousseau, will dive into how we can design emotionally safe events. He will share how to advocate for our safety needs, overcome the status quo, and celebrate divergent viewpoints through simple actions that can lead to significant results at your events.

Our second speaker, Sue Hershkowitz-Coore, will talk about the power of language in developing strong relationships with your stakeholders. She will share the key to being persuasive with tips on showing authenticity and developing inclusive messaging that creates emotional certainty for your clients and partners.

Afterwards, we will have time for a short Q&A moderated by our own VP of Membership, Travis Pham, CMP.

At the end of this Educational Event, you will leave empowered with new insights into how you can continue putting people first through emotional intelligence and inclusivity.

Goals:

  • To empower our audience with new insights into how we can continue putting people first through emotional intelligence and inclusivity
  • Ensure guests understand the importance of DEI in our events
  • Create safe environments within our events for guests to thrive
