On Monday, March 4, the weather cleared and our members gathered at Convene for an exciting presentation by Corbin Ball, one of our industry’s top tech influencers.
Ball reviewed the newest tech trends that are effecting events. Some of these trends are one-stop shop software platforms for managing events from registration to mapping; how smartphones are changing how events and exhibitions are being managed; and the internet of things (IoT), where everyday objects have network connectivity including smart guest rooms.
Site visits by virtual reality? Yes. Facial recognition so that your conference badge is printed by the time you reach the desk? Yes. Also discussed was how advanced analytic techniques are becoming essential. Now that you have all this data about your attendees, how do you use it?
