Firstly, I want to express my profound gratitude to each of you for your continued dedication and support to our MPI chapter. Your commitment to advancing the meeting and event industry is truly inspiring and a testament to the strength of our community.
June brings with it a host of enriching events and initiatives designed to support your professional growth and foster stronger connections within our industry. Here are some highlights to look forward to this month:

⟩ June 27: CSR: Volunteer at GLWD
Sign up and volunteer at God’s Love We Deliver. This volunteer activity will involve working in meal prep and packing meals. God’s Love is the tri-state area's leading provider of nutritious, individually tailored meals to people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves.
As we reach the midpoint of the year, it's an ideal time to reflect on our accomplishments and set new goals for the rest of the year. Let’s continue to support each other, share our knowledge, and strive for excellence in all our endeavors. Your active engagement is what propels our chapter forward and strengthens our industry. I also want to extend a special thank you to our volunteers and committee members whose hard work and dedication make our chapter’s activities possible. Your efforts behind the scenes are invaluable and greatly appreciated.
In closing, I encourage you to stay engaged, participate in our events, and make the most of the resources available to you through our MPI chapter. Together, we can achieve remarkable things and elevate the standards of our profession.

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson Jennifer is a freelance / contract meeting planner. She works with multiple clients, mostly in medical education / pharma. Outside of work, she's passionate about self-improvement and self-care. Her dog, Wells, makes her laugh and can drive her crazy. In August 2024, she will hit her 13th anniversary wiith MPI!
She was a member of MPIGNY for many years before actively engaging in the chapter. A friend who was president of another MPI chapter told her to join a committee. As an introvert, she was reluctant. She said again, "Join a committee." Luckily for us, she did - and she has been a volunteer for several years now. She's connected with other planners and suppliers and has developed good friends. Currently as director of CSR, she's enjoying arranging activities to give back to the NYC community.
"I hope the MPIGNY members see the passion and dedication the Board has for developing events to expand knowledge and skills, to create inclusion, and to grow networks all while having fun. We're in a great industry and chapter, and it's the people that make it so great. I hope they'll choose to volunteer in the future."

"If not me, then who"? - Travis Manion I joined MPI a year ago to gain industry knowledge and to make long lasting connections that can lead to career advancement, great friendships, and continued learning from my peers. Outside of work, I love to cook and I'm a tea enthusiast! I'm a fan of the minimalist, zero-waste lifestyle, and I enjoy binge watching the latest in sci-fi TV. Traveling is also a favorite passion of mine. I would love to connect with people in the chapter who are eager to share their expertise and best practices. I want to learn from them. I would also like to connect with those that may assist me specifically in moving my career forward. Last but certainly not least, I'd like to connect with new members to let them how wonderful this organization is and the many benefits that await.

We are excited to host the 33rd Annual MPI Greater New York Kalahari Resorts Golf Outing on July 25 at NY Country Club in Spring Valley, New York. We are looking for some Swinging Singles and Fabulous Foursomes to join us on the green. There will be roving golf carts galore touting everything from luscious libations to spectacular stogies to keep you energized.
Not a pro, but wanna be one? Lessons may help, or provide a good laugh. Just be kind to one another if a stray ball lands your way.
Fancy yourself a tad more advanced? Swing on over to enter a contest and win a prize!
Golf not your thing, but a party is? We've got you covered!
Sleep in and grab a later bus from the city. We'll have fun in the sun, lunch on the green and party into the early evening.
And there's nothing like a great CSR activity to give you the warm & fuzzies - if the sun isn't shining bright enough for you.
We will be filling backpacks to donate to Lexington Academy on East 104th Street.

Save the date for November 25, from 6-9pm. We are thrilled to announce that we have confirmed the venue and the date for our annual MPIGNY chapter fundraiser! This year’s theme will be Casino Royale, and will be hosted by the stunning Apella by Alexandria event space on Manhattan’s lower east side.
This will be a night to remember! So, get ready to place your bets at our sponsored game tables by playing a few rounds of craps, blackjack, poker, or roulette. Or browse and bid on a variety of items in the silent auction, network among New York’s best meeting and event professionals, and enjoy some of the seasonal cuisine offered by the culinary team at Apella. Perhaps order a shaken, not stirred martini at the open bar.

The MPI Global World Education Congress (WEC) was held in Louisville, Kentucky, May 20 – 23, 2024 and was a significant event for meeting and event professionals worldwide.
MPIGNY won the award for Best Inclusion of Theme for the Craft Your Experience Challenge! You might have seen this "commercial" video featuring several of our board members on social media, posted prior to the event.
Key highlights of the conference included:
♦ Educational Sessions: Diverse workshops and sessions covered topics such as event technology, sustainability, risk management, and attendee engagement. Industry experts shared insights and strategies to enhance the effectiveness of event planning and execution.
♦ Networking Opportunities: The conference provided numerous opportunities for attendees to connect, share experiences, and build professional relationships. Special events such as networking receptions and roundtable discussions facilitated meaningful interactions.
♦ Keynote Speakers: Inspirational talks from renowned speakers addressed current challenges and future directions of the events industry. Their perspectives offered valuable takeaways for attendees to implement in their own practices.
♦ Exhibitions and Showcases: Exhibitors displayed the latest products, services, and technologies in the events space. Attendees could explore innovative solutions and establish connections with vendors and service providers.
♦ Local Highlights: Louisville's unique culture and hospitality were on full display. Attendees enjoyed the Opening Night Reception at Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. We celebrated 40 years of the MPI Foundation at the iconic Mercury Ballroom and the closing event was Disco Themed held at 4th Street Live Entertainment District.
Our MPIGNY Office of the President attended the President’s Dinner where we celebrated Steve O'Malley, COO - Business Events Solutions at Maritz, and two-time Chair of MPI’s International Board of Directors who received the MPI Industry Leader Award. This special recognition was in honor of Steve's profound impact and exceptional contributions to MPI and our industry.
Overall, WEC in Louisville was a comprehensive and enriching experience for professionals in the meeting and events industry, providing them with the tools, knowledge, and connections to advance their careers and improve their event planning capabilities.
