The MPI Global World Education Congress (WEC) was held in Louisville, Kentucky, May 20 – 23, 2024 and was a significant event for meeting and event professionals worldwide.
MPIGNY won the award for Best Inclusion of Theme for the Craft Your Experience Challenge! You might have seen this "commercial" video featuring several of our board members on social media, posted prior to the event.
Key highlights of the conference included:
♦ Educational Sessions: Diverse workshops and sessions covered topics such as event technology, sustainability, risk management, and attendee engagement. Industry experts shared insights and strategies to enhance the effectiveness of event planning and execution.
♦ Networking Opportunities: The conference provided numerous opportunities for attendees to connect, share experiences, and build professional relationships. Special events such as networking receptions and roundtable discussions facilitated meaningful interactions.
♦ Keynote Speakers: Inspirational talks from renowned speakers addressed current challenges and future directions of the events industry. Their perspectives offered valuable takeaways for attendees to implement in their own practices.
♦ Exhibitions and Showcases: Exhibitors displayed the latest products, services, and technologies in the events space. Attendees could explore innovative solutions and establish connections with vendors and service providers.
♦ Local Highlights: Louisville's unique culture and hospitality were on full display. Attendees enjoyed the Opening Night Reception at Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. We celebrated 40 years of the MPI Foundation at the iconic Mercury Ballroom and the closing event was Disco Themed held at 4th Street Live Entertainment District.
Our MPIGNY Office of the President attended the President’s Dinner where we celebrated Steve O'Malley, COO - Business Events Solutions at Maritz, and two-time Chair of MPI’s International Board of Directors who received the MPI Industry Leader Award. This special recognition was in honor of Steve's profound impact and exceptional contributions to MPI and our industry.
Overall, WEC in Louisville was a comprehensive and enriching experience for professionals in the meeting and events industry, providing them with the tools, knowledge, and connections to advance their careers and improve their event planning capabilities.
