Message from Our President
Spring has Sprung! Yet another month has flown by! Thank you to all that completed the MPI Global Membership and Chapter Satisfaction Survey. The information gathered from this survey is used to help MPI Global and our Chapter deliver an overall better experience for you. You don’t have to wait for this annual survey to provide any feedback or find out how MPIGNY can better accommodate your needs. Please reach out to any of Board members if there is anything we can do to make your experience better or if you have any questions. We had a great Chapter Update on March 2. I hope all that attended found it valuable and have a better understanding of how our Chapter operates. As mentioned on the call, MPIGNY has been nominated for the Marketplace Excellence award. We should find out this month if we have won. Our CSR event in March was held in conjunction with Publicolor on March 11 at PS 127 Aerospace Science Magnet School in Queens. This event allowed the attendees to paint alongside Publicolor students and informally mentor them by talking about your education and career. Thank you to Marissa Wilkes, our Director of CSR, for setting up this amazing giveback event. Finally, we hosted the annual GMID event at @Ease1345. This year we partnered with 10 other local membership organizations for what was a great gathering. Ginger Johnson discussed the Power of Connection and how the "new normal" of remote work doesn't have to mean disconnection. Very timely in this post-pandemic world. Would you like to give back to the hospitality industry? We need YOU, our members, to jump in and assist our Chapter where you can. How can you help? What are your interests or skills? It doesn’t need to take a large amount of your time; it can be as little or as much as you would like to dedicate. We will work with you and your schedule. Please reach out to me or any of our Board Members if you would like to get more involved with the Chapter. Or simply complete the "Find Your Fit" survey if you are interested in volunteering. We would love to have you! We kick off April with a DEI Check-up on April 19 at @Ease605. We have an incredible panel lined up, so you do not want to miss this event. Registration is open. MPIGNY will also be supporting Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center on April 29 by taking part in the Cycle for Survival. Space is limited so please make sure to sign up as soon as possible! Details on how to register are listed below in the Buzz. Hope to see you there! Best, Andrew Barnes FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA
