Tiffany Alves, Makeready

I have spent the last 15 years of my career in New York City selling New York-based hotels and event venues. The company I currently work for, Makeready, has no hotels in the city. I am now reintroducing myself to the members of MPI as someone who is not necessarily selling New York any longer but is still very passionate about and in love with the city. I work remote here so that I can stay connected to the members I have incorporated into my network while still selling my hotels in Charleston, South Carolina, and Nashville, Tennessee.

Reconnecting and growing my network has been a tremendous assest to my career. Having rejoined MPI several months ago, one of the first things I did was volunteer with God’s Love We Deliver. I really enjoyed getting to know other volunteers and their stories while preparing food for people in need. It’s something I plan to take part in for years to come.

Aside from NYC, my career has taken me to several amazing locations. My favorite adventure was being sent to Scandinavia. I loved being able to visit Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, and Helsinki. While there, I enjoyed meeting with clients and getting to experience their cultures and cities.

Outside of work, my favorite location is Lisbon, Portugal, because both of my parents are from there. I love visiting a place where I can connect with people who share the same language and culture. Visiting there makes me feel proud to be where my family is from.
