Greetings KSHE Members,

Season’s Greetings to you! If you are like me, it’s nice to have the change of season and all the holiday trappings that comes with this time of year. I bet you are also looking forward to 2021 and a fresh start! Before we press on to 2021, I believe it would be appropriate to take a quick look back at all your KSHE Board and a great support team was able to accomplish when it came to delivering education to its members and others in the state, region, and country.

Safe Day One – This year, KSHE was able to make even greater inroads around the state and country providing a comprehensive orientation to contractors and facilities technicians that work in the healthcare facilities physical environment. Coming soon in 2021 to Safe Day One is a Pandemic Module that will build on many things we learned in 2020 when it comes to working in and around healthcare facilities.

Certified Healthcare Contractor – Three sessions delivered in 2020 (Last one on December 16!). After the face-to-face session in early March, the last two sessions have/will be delivered through a virtual format. Delivering a 4-5 hour educational and engaging remote session without the normal food and fellowship had its challenges; however, these sessions were delivered successfully.

COVID Webinar Series – These sessions had great attendance and positive feedback as we kept members across the state and region abreast of the rapidly changing environment early in the pandemic cycle. Your KSHE Board also played a key role in delivering a regional session with Ohio and Indiana. These sessions not only provided excellent and timely information, they showcased the expertise from a number of individuals right here in Kentucky.

LEADERSHIP & TECHNICIAN TRAINING - Numerous free training session opportunities were shared throughout the year for both leadership and technicians. We hope many of you were able to take advantage these sessions.

HCC- Healthcare Coalition Conference – With record-breaking attendance and excellent content options, the KSHE Board made a major commitment to deliver incredible speakers and presentations instead of taking the easier path of canceling the conference. Hope many of you had a chance to attend.

The annual KSHE Board planning session took place the first week of December. You can be sure that providing quality, accessible, and relevant education will be a key part of our goals for 2021. In order for us to be as successful as possible, your input and feedback on our training offerings and delivery is always appreciated. Feel free to take a moment and let us know what you think and share any ideas or content you would like to see.
